The worst of the worst at the 2010 Emmy's

My first major complaint is all about an ugly ass necklace ruining a beautiful woman.  What the hell was Padma Lakshmi thinking when she chose to wear this necklace with that pretty dress?  I was so happy that Top Chef won & that any show finally beat out Amazing Race but I'm wondering if she's regretting wearing that necklace now that her picture is all over the place?  Now that I'm looking at the picture again I'm wondering if she's also regretting not brushing her hair?  She's such a beautiful woman but last night chile she looked a like a shit! 

Next up was our major cooch alert as it appears that a couple ladies thought that this was the VMA's & not the Emmy's.  Now, as for Stephanie (Pratt) I guess I can't really bitch because she's an MTV reality person so dressing for a major Hollywood event isn't really her forte but Lo seemed to manage & while she also wore a shorter dress it wasn't so short that she couldn't sit down, Stephanie really looks like she forgot her leggings.  The other culprit should really know better not to mention that even though Heidi (Klum) is a model with killer legs she's too old to wear a dress that short...that's right, I said it...too old!  Doesn't she ever watch What Not To Wear?  Mini skirts are unacceptable over 35!  I'm really curious if these 2 ladies were even able to sit down all night long or if they had to watch the show standing?

Now it is time for the all inclusive worst of the worst...Rita Wilson wore a white sheath dress with a crystal overlay and chandelier shoes & Tom Hanks apparently didn't have the balls to tell her that she looked like an idiot, either that or he really needs to have his eyes checked!

 

2010 Emmy's fashion

I have to say that even with Jimmy Fallon as host the Emmy's were really good this year but I watch tons and tons of television so it's kind of hard for me not to enjoy the Emmy's.  From the opening number to the closing credits I was entertained for the most part, the people kept their speeches short & I was happy with most of the winners but you can see all of my opinions about the actual awards over at my other blog. It's time now to talk about the important stuff...what everyone looked like!

First up are the guys & really they all looked pretty similar this year, at one point 2 guys came up to present an award & I think they were in the exact same tux except one had a thinner lapel.  Anyway, I didn't really see any guys that made me think "he looks like shit" so I will just say that Ryan Murphy was the worst dressed guy because I'm sure that's what everyone else would say although I really liked his shiny blue Tom Ford tux.  It was a toss up for best dressed guy though, basically just the dude who looks the hottest in his plain old black tux & I think I'm going to go with John Hamm.

Now for the important stuff, the ladies!  Most of the ladies actually looked really good this year & that is so rare!  Tina Fey's dress could have used a different pattern but even she looked really good & that's hard for her to pull off.  Ok so I thought the cast of Glee was a bit of a disaster but (aside from looking eerily thin) Lea Michele looked stunning in Navy.  I also though Julie Benz looked polished & gorgeous in her white gown with her hair simply pulled back, very clean very classy & I'm sure going to miss her on Dexter.  My favorite by far though was Claire Danes in a nude beaded gown with her blond hair & slight kiss of sun on her skin, she just looked classic and effortlessly beautiful.

My worst dressed was by far Rita Wilson but she was dressed so poorly I'll need a completely separate post for that!  Here are the next 3 worst dressed ladies 2 of whom I adore and I feel bad having to put them on this list but they chose to wear it & now I'm saying they should have chose something else!  Jewell...come on sister, the snaggletooth isn't enough? You have to wear a nude doily with little tit support, a bow under the boob, and uneven layers, what were you thinking?  And then my girl Mindy...sister, the hair is awful which makes the dress (which already looks like it was in Romy & Michelle) look even worse even though it needed no assistance in that department.  Last but not least we have January...she looks like she was having some killer sex & then looked at the clock & thought "shit, I've got to go" so threw on her ridiculous dress & ran out the door without doing her hair or makeup.  She looks like a giant walk of shame, not much else to say about it! 

 So that's it for this post...I've got another one related to jewel, crotch, and crystal faux pas!!  So, do my choices match yours?  Do you think the fashion police at E! will agree with me?  I can't wait to find out later!!


 

Hogs 4 Dogs wrap up!

Last night was the 2nd annual Hogs 4 Dogs at Silky's to support the Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter & I'd say by the HUGE crowd that it was a big hit!  The weather was perfect, the burgers & dogs were super yummy, the beer was flowing, the bikers were big softies with their dogs, and almost everyone in my posse won something!  Doug won a 50/50 drawing for $50 & then he also won a $25 gift certificate for New Place which he gave to me & said he wouldn't likely use.  After all of that Megan won a gift certificates for Scoreboards & I won a movie pack which had popcorn (unfortunately not Garrett's) & candy & 4 movie passes in it! Myself & my ladies are going to utilize those passes along with the gift certificate to New Place & take ourselves out for a movie & drinks sometime in the next few weeks.  I do not know how much was raised for the shelter but I know it had to be a lot...they sold a ton of t-shirts & other goodies for the dogs (we got a Harley scarf for Zoey who loved it) and they raised $500 from the 50/50 drawings alone so I'm sure they topped the $2,000 they raised last year.  Hopefully next year the event will be even bigger & you really shouldn't miss it!!!
 

Looking for something to do tonight?

It's Thursday which means family dinner night but rather than hitting up Leon's or Holiday Grill the posse will be heading to the Hogs 4 Dogs event benefiting the Dearborn Animal Shelter at Silky's tonight.  Tickets are only $20 & that covers food & beer!  There will be raffles & other exciting stuff going on as well as a band & a DJ so come on out & support your 4 legged friends & tie one on while you are at it.  Hope to see you there!

Weekend & then some

 So this past weekend was Sloppy Hoes weekend up north & myself & 4 other ladies headed up to Alger & spent all weekend drinking, eating, lounging, and sleeping & it was a blast!  I'm still trying to remember quite a bit of Saturday night so once the crew sends out their photos hopefully I'll be able to put the pieces together.  

After the weekend of fun we opted to head home early & I think I was in my jammies & lounging on the couch by 5 pm which I was hoping for since yesterday myself & some people from work put in some hours with Habitat For Humanity & spent our day siding a house & doing some window trim work.  It was a long & rough day & my shoulders, back, and arms are beyond sore today but it was totally worth it.  Once I can get some pics from this I'll be sure to post those too!!  I hope you all had an awesome weekend as well because we are running out of good ones...it will be nasty & snowing before you know it :(

Dearborn Homecoming 2010!
