If I Were A Boy...

Ok, now even though I will say that I sing along when I am stuck listening to this due to lack of anything else I still don't think this song makes one bit of sense. I'm sitting here reading the lyrics & she makes it sound like women don't have these rights that the men she is singing about seem to enjoy daily so let's do a little break down shall we?

I’d roll out of bed in the morning and throw on what I wanted and go - I did this today
drink beer with the guys - I drink beer with the girls
And chase after girls - And chase after guys
I’d kick with who I wanted and I'd never get confronted for it cause they stick up for me - All true friends do this male or female

I would turn off my phone tell everyone it's broken - I do this when I want peace
So they think that I was sleeping alone - who cares what people think
I’d put myself first - Check, I do this daily
And make the rules as I go - Again, check
Cause I know that she’d be faithful waiting for me to come home - Waiting? I'd be out too

But you’re just a boy, you don’t understand how it feels to love a girl - Um, other than boys only lesbians know how it feels to love a girl, it's us girls who make everything out to be so much bigger than it is, maybe just maybe if women did in fact behave like Beyonce's version of men then there wouldn't be all these crazy bitches following their men to see who they are with or grilling them about where they were. Bottom line in any relationship is if you doubt them, end it! After looking at these lyrics & scientifically analyzing them I think this song should be called "If I Were Still Single" because that's basically what she's getting at, if I were still single I could do whatever I wanted like she seems to think boys do & now that she's married she no longer has the luxury. That's my opinion!

Amy & the Family Stone?

As I keep reading all of these Amy Winehouse stories about her cancelling shows & being all drunk & on crack & everything else, I keep wondering...who does she think she is? I can only come up with one answer & that is, Sly Stone! Due to lack of paps back in the day we don't have any good effed up Sly pics so we have to use a regular one, but add a bottle & some blood shot eyes with your imagination & then notice any similarities?

So Much To Say About The VMA's!

Ok kiddies, sorry I've been absent lately but my parents are up from TN & I've been spending some quality time with my mom while my dad has been off at the Jim Beam golf outing with his boys. So just to sum up my weekend before I get into my opinion of the VMA's, I chilled on Friday, watched Wonderland & thought it was pretty damn good, very interesting & informative & Val Kilmer did a damn good job at playing John Holmes or so I thought. I had heard things about the Wonderland murders in the past but never really knew anything about what went down there & damn, those murders were gruesome & in the movies when the actual bludgeoning was going on I had to cover my face, it was beyond disgusting!

Ok so on to the rest of the weekend, mom came over on Saturday & we went out to dinner, played putt putt, rented movies & chatted. Sunday we watched more movies & chatted, hung out & I made dinner. We had a lot of fun & it was really nice having the company.

Now, the VMA's. First of all I have no idea how in the hell Brit won video of the year, the video was nothing special, I also don't know how she won female video of the year, again the video was nothing special. She looked good, but didn't sound good when she flubbed her little opening speech...pretty sad when you have 10 words to say & you screw one up. She also stuck her tongue out at the end like she had just given a 10 minute speech in 5 minutes time, that I didn't get.

Can we please discuss this Russell Brand bloke? Dude, the UK can totally keep him. I thought a couple things he said were funny but that was about it, I was more embarrassed for him than anything else. He looked like an idiot, he made fun of the mentally challenged, he discussed the Jonas Bros way too much and that was about all I could handle. This was the first time in my VMA history that I didn't watch the whole show. About 1 hour into the awards I started looking at my weekend DVR list to see what I had missed when I noticed that the new season of Entourage was recording for me, at that time I opted to switch over. *On a side note, this season is going to rock, Ari called Lloyd Yoko last night and I about peed myself, Drama is totally in full on glory this season as well. Since the VMA's were still recording while I was watching the boys I did go back & rewind to watch Pink perform (loved it, love her) and I caught some of X-tina & I didn't recognize her with that makeup on & assumed she was some new group like Danity Kane that we could do without. Once I realized it was her I enjoyed the performance. I did like Rihanna's performance as well, she's just so cute.

I can’t stand Miley Cyrus as you all are very aware & then she had to be the one to introduce Pink at the awards which made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. She’s awful mouthy for being such a “proper” young girl, in fact I’d say she’s just a bitch! You know who else I don’t like? The Jonas Brothers! My peeps L&B said as they were watching the performance last night “the Jonas Brothers are by far the gayest thing we’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot!” I fully agreed!! They aren’t gay in the “I like boys” way or “I’m so happy way” but gay in the “are you seeing this cause this shit aint right” way. My biggest beef with the bros is that I hear all of the girls are in love with Nick, and Joe is clearly the most attractive of the 3, the other 2 look like Screech. Kevin & Joe both however are in desperate need of an eyebrow wax!!

Heidi Montag's New Video

So, even though the video is in super slo-mo and runs about 6 minutes longer than the actual song...this is the video for Overdosin! It is AWFUL & if possible, worse than the last one...mainly because it looks like this was supposed to be professional & hi, Spencer could have probably filmed this one too!! She seems to be going for some sort of humor factor but it's not even funny, not in the way she intends (laugh with me) anyway, it's more of a laugh at you video, enjoy!!

So, are you dying laughing yet?

FCC or MAGIC?

I don’t understand what is up with the radio, I don’t know about you guys but I listen to various stations throughout most days. My main 2 stations are 89X (best morning show) and 95.5 with 96.3 as the 3rd runner up but at work my little radio doesn’t get many stations in so I listen to 93.1 or 105.1…they both play a decent mix of a lot of different crowd pleasing music which is better in the office so I don’t offend anyone. Now, when I’ve just had it with blah music I plug in my ipod or hit up Pandora radio & listen to stuff that is a little less appropriate for work. So anyway, there is a point here…I’m sitting at my desk listening to 105.1 and “If It Makes You Happy” by Sheryl Crow comes on and I’m singing along and when I get to “why the hell does it make you so sad” the phrase is over in the song & I’m still singing it. It had been a while since I had heard it so I thought maybe I was in the wrong spot so the part comes back around again and I don’t sing but instead realize that the words “the hell” have been removed it now just says “why does it make you so sad”. It makes me sad because part of the lyrics have been removed, not silenced or bleeped but removed altogether. This is reminiscent of “You Don’t Know How it Feels” by Tom Petty on 93.1, instead of saying “Let’s roll another joint” it actually says “Let me get to the point, let’s roll another road” and that doesn’t even rhyme! On 105.1 & 93.1 Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long” they run the lyrics as “We were trying different things & trying funny things” instead of “smoking funny things”. Similar, in Paul Simon’s “Late in the Evening” he says “I stepped outside to smoke myself a J” which is not omitted on any radio station & isn’t that kind of hypocritical? Also, in a Fall Out Boy & a Panic at the Disco song the word Goddamn is used repeatedly & generally just silenced & I guess I understand that one but what I don’t understand is this.96.3 & 95.5 don’t omit the Kid Rock lyric of smoking funny things nor do they omit the lyric by Sheryl Crow or Tom Petty. 89X doesn’t omit any of them…not even the Goddamn’s which is so refreshing because one of the songs says Goddamn in it about 20 times & listening to it on 96.3 sucks because the song is mostly silent, it’s kind of like watching 8 Mile on VH1! Now, I assume that 89X has different rules because they are technically Canadian right? So, why is it that 96.3 can play “smoking funny things” and “why the hell” but 105.1 & 93.1 can’t? Do you think it’s more of a “we choose not to play those lyrics” as opposed to them not being allowed to play them? And if that’s the case then why isn’t Paul Simon edited? It can’t be because he’s a “classic” because Tom Petty is as well so why does he have to be edited? I guess I just get very frustrated when I’m at work, in my car, at home…wherever & I’m trying to sing along to some song and the whole thing is edited. How does anyone ever know what a song actually says these days? Regardless of why they can, I want to thank 89X for playing actual music in its actual state & only bleeping out the bigguns like F$#%, Sh*#, C$#t…etc. Ok, that’s it for my ramble, thanks for reading!!

Amy Crackhouse

This just in, at the ripe age of 24 Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with emphysema, she only has 70% lung capacity and what caused it you ask? Smoking the crack. She was told that if she continued smoking crack she would be wheelchair bound & careerless within a month & chance for ultimate survival would be slim. What is wrong with her? She's obviously a mess & the pics I posted in the past proved it! This just goes to show you that crack not only kills but causes you to roam around your property in your underwear, weigh 10 pounds, and look like a hot mess at almost all times! She has a great voice so I really hope she wises up or her last album will be just that, her last.

Awful Song

Obviously other people must like this song because I hear it a lot but what is with the "No Handle Bars" song by the Flobots? First of all it sounds just like Weezer (whom I prefer not to listen to) I thought it was Weezer, but second of all it's stupid, totally stupid. I looked them up online today to see what they are all about & they are a big band & they described themselves as "having a sound that explores and expands the frontiers of live hip-hop" ok, what about that song is hip hop may I ask you? I haven't listened to any other music of theirs but my guess is I never will, that song makes it hard for me to give them another chance. I will however recommend Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl", if you haven't heard it check it out, it's pretty rockin & very catchy!! I often find myself singing it when I'm cleaning at home so I hope I'm not roaming around at work or in public singing out loud "I kissed a girl and I liked it", I'd never get a date...well, not the kind I'm looking for :)
