I learned the full name of Sarah Palin's son Trig today...this is not a joke. His name is Trig Paxson Van Palin and why would anyone do that to their kid? Especially a special needs child with Down Syndrome, well the answer is simple, Sarah is a huge Van Halen fan. Come the eff on! Is this really the kind of person that we want running our country? Let's not forget that John McCain is 5,000 years old so the chances of her being President are HUGE! As if her brood's names aren't already bad enough just first name alone...I feel bad for them because you know they are made fun of constantly for their names & now that their mom is in the National public eye it's only going to get worse. Best of luck to her kids making it through this election unscathed!!

No More Drama, Vote For Obama!

Ok all, I'm not really a very political person at all but I did want to make it known that I am supporting Barack Obama and not just because John McCain is 100 & Sarah Palin is so freaking annoying, but because Barack stands more for what I stand for and this country needs change not 4-8 more years of old ideals and opinions that date back to 1954. Wake up America, get your head out of your ass & make an educated vote based on YOUR beliefs not the beliefs of your parents, friends, family, church. If that vote is for McCain more power to you, but know WHY you are voting the way you are don't do it "just because" someone told you it was the way to go. YOUR future is in the hands of this election and you need to remember that on your way to the polls but regardless of your choice you need to do your duty and VOTE!!! Damn Republicans

Being a Liberal gal I find this amusing: The fact that the Republican National Convention was designated a “national security event” which means the secret service are responsible for the planning and implementing of security but unfortunately the local cops still had to deal with the “street crimes” and they were plentiful. Close to 300 people were arrested and almost half are facing felony charges…funny, how many people were arrested at the Dems convention? Did I type that out loud? Ooops. So St. Paul got $50 Mill in grant money to pay for additional security & they said it would cost $34 million to pay 3,500 officers & the rest would go to their training. So you are telling me that someone who is being “hired” for added security is going to get paid $19,000…for a few days of work? My dad was a cop & trust me, they don’t make $19K a week so why should these temps? They also had the help of FBI, FPS, Customs, Coast Guard & TSA…for Christ sakes, talk about too many people soaking up double time working the holiday!! I’m sure there was added security at the Dems convention as well but obviously it wasn’t really needed. This is going to be a crazy campaign & I’ve been sick of it for months already so I can’t wait until the actual election & if McLame wins I’m taking a transfer to Canada!

More Kwame

The big hearing regarding getting Kwame out of office is streaming for me right now (10:30 am ish)…I’m very excited to see what’s the what!! So K is saying that this whole thing is unfair because Granholm is biased and he can’t get a fair hearing. I also find it amusing that he’s not present due to what sounded like me “is in New York on business” but isn’t he required to remain in Michigan until this hearing is over or was it one of his other hearings? So now the judge is reading and talking and basically speaking gibberish! I would like him to start speaking English & say something I want to hear. It seems as though both sides have turned in info showing how others have done similar things & either walked away or been axed so that really serves no purpose. They are talking about fair & just treatment but really it’s the city that needs fair & just treatment, which means that Kwame has to leave. I got a Sunday paper but haven’t had the chance to read it but apparently Kwame was ready to make an offer that would include him leaving office or some such business. Obviously I’ll have to read the article otherwise I’m just talking out my ass.

Ok so basically, the judge said that Granholm is more than welcome to move forward with her hearing (tomorrow) to remove Kwame from office. Kwame’s peeps want to file an appeal while Granholm’s team is obviously against it. Judge said if you want to appeal go ahead but I’m not gonna stay. The judge made a couple jokes about all the paper work he’s been dealing with & he seemed like he was very happy for this issue to move forward & I’m guessing out of his lap…at least for now.

Please Remove Him!

You know, all this Kwame business is no longer funny, it's freaking embarrassing for the city. Detroit already has one of the worst reputations of any city in the entire country and now this?! I mean come on, Kwame's face is all over CNN, and I'm sure has been all over Best Week Ever on VH1 too. I just don't understand what is wrong with him that he would want to stay in his position, he's making a fool out of himself and Detroit and he sees nothing wrong with it. After the jail time and constant court dates he still remains mayor and a government that would even allow someone who committed perjury to stay in office obviously lacks a lot. In any other country he would have been thrown in jail immediately & I'm sure in some...killed, yet we just allow him to continue to work! It isn't like he's the manager of a Dairy Queen, he's the freaking mayor of a large metropolitan city that he keeps abusing to get ahead. I'm beyond sick of all of this crap & when Granholm makes her decision it better be to remove him, Detroit has suffered enough at the hands of their "leader" it's time they get to move on!!

Looks like John Edwards (politician not clairvoyant) has admitted to having an affair. My co-worker made a comment about men & how they are always doing things like this & my response was that it isn't that it's just men doing it, it's just that women are too smart to get caught!!

Kwame Update

Ok so Kwame appears to have been in and out of court all day & he now has to post 10% of a $25,000 bond to get out of a jail, he has been fitted for a tether & is not allowed to leave the state. This is the mayor of freaking Detroit & while I guess it's what is expected from the D it's still a huge embarrassment! If he would have just stepped down after the perjury thing then the focus on him & the city wouldn't be so strong but he's obviously too selfish to worry about the city. It just amazes me that he thinks he's some major celebrity & deserves all these special treatments...dude, you are no different than anyone who lives here & had I lied in court & pushed a cop I don't think I'd be sitting on my lunch break blogging, I'd be in prison for god knows how long!!

It's Jail For You Kwame!!

Kwame was sent to jail this morning!! Apparently he made an unauthorized business trip to Windsor & though he apologized it didn't matter. He has to post a bond of $75,000 or get his lawyers to convince the court to overturn their decision before he can be released. The only problem this poses is the fact that there is no current Deputy Mayor since Anthony Adams is currently working for the Water & Sewerage Department. We'll see what unfolds from here!!

My Makeup, My Makeup...

We all remember the old commercial for the zoo (if not see below) with all of the animals running around getting ready for the zoo to open and lucky for all of us, the zoo will remain open with the help of our tax dollars. It seems as though Oakland & Wayne counties appreciate the zoo more than Macomb county does being that O & W voted 3 to 1 while Macomb only voted 2 to 1, perhaps it’s because they live farther from it that its closing wouldn’t impact them too much. I don’t see why people wouldn’t have voted for it considering that the tax isn’t all that much…the average $200K homeowner will be taxed an extra $10 a year (sweet news for renters) and this minimal tax increase will generate an extra $15Mill a year for the preservation and operations of our lovely zoo!

So now Kwame is saying that the text messages were sent by hackers, come the eff on, he is starting to sound like a little kid blaming the dog when the lamp got knocked over and broken. This guy is the biggest idiot I’ve ever seen, you are the mayor of Detroit not some West Side thug dude, so rolling in Navigator’s, rockin big ass diamond earrings, making it rain at house parties, partying with hookers, throwing bashes of the century, none of this makes you look good as a political figure.
The main reason you keep getting reelected is because the vast majority of the city of Detroit is poor & they look at all of your bling & think that just maybe if they keep voting you in to office they too will end up all rich & powerful, but we all know that will never happen. They don’t realize that it is their money that is paying for those vehicles, parties, diamonds, hotel rooms, hookers, dinners with Christine…etc. consider yourself lucky to be the mayor of a city that really has it’s head up it’s ass. The city still looks like shit, sure the downtown area is looking a little better, but what about the actual city where the residents live? Every other house on most blocks is either burnt up, missing, or foreclosed on and boarded up & who wants to look at that? I’m guessing the family attempting to live in the 1 remaining house on the block just has to deal with the drug dealers & squatters living in the boarded up houses down the road because you wasted millions of dollars in that whistleblower trial that could have been spent to clean up these run down neighborhoods. I’m not a resident of Detroit, basically because I’m not going to pay an extra city tax when nothing is being done to improve the city! I really hope that the city council comes through & Kwame is dethroned, because in any other country he would have been immediately arrested and thrown in prison for perjury since it is a felony! That’s the one thing I don’t like about this country, if you are a public figure the law just simply doesn’t pertain to you, you have no legal drinking age, you can lie in court and not be punished, if you are sentenced to prison time you only have to actually serve out 5% of it, and you can usually buy yourself out of anything else but Joe Blow who gets in a bar brawl has to do hard time? I would like to ask that you be a real man & step down because you look like a fool walking around like nothing is going on, I would also like to ask your wife to step up & leave your ass because you are a dog & have made an absolute fool out of her!! Yay for my gays!!

How exciting that the California Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage today. I know all kinds of people all over the place are outraged (stupid) but myself & many many others certainly support this ruling & I can only hope that the rest of the country follows suit as well. This has been such a long time coming & I know my grandpa is probably rolling over in his grave hearing about this, but I am so thrilled that finally some people out there who actually want to say "I do" will now have the chance. Now, this just leads me to ask...are Brad & Angelina going to follow through on their promise? They did say that they wouldn't get married until gay marriage was made legal, I'm sure they will now stipulate that the whole country has to allow it before they say "I do", I guess we'll see what happens after they return to the country with their new offspring!!
